In this essay key aspects of decolonial thinkingare discussed, and the needfor a situated knowledge in the Bolivian archaeological research is proposed, as well as the search ofnew sources for generating alternative interpretation models ofthepast, among which ethnography and oral history stand out. The diversality" of models in archaeological research is considered, in contrast to the mono-cultural hegemonic discourses thatprevail in the interpretation ofthe pre-Hispanic societies history in Bolivia and Latin America.
