Introduction. The global and regional rankings of universities represent a way to show the competi-tiveness of the different houses of higher learning with their peers. They represent in some way the success of the academic / research and innovative university recently. This article analyzes the situa-tion in the various global and regional rankings of colleges, universities and in particular Bolivia, Universidad Mayor de San Andrés in the health sciences. Material and methods. We searched the Pubmed systemic and Google Scholar. We obtai-ned the results of the rankings: THES 2010, SIR 2010-2012, ARWU 2010, WWRU 2010. Results. Globally Bolivia are not present in the THES Ranking 2010-2012, ARWU 2010. The best position of Bolivia in the WWRU Ranking 2012 corresponds to UMSA is in the position in 2361 and the SIR 2010 in the position 243. In health science. occupies the best position the UMSS in the post 237. Bolivia provides less than 0.01% of scientific production.Conclusión. Bolivian universities are not represented in the world rankings and position in Latín America is low, where the best score places in Latin America corresponds to UMSA in the 243 position, but in biomedicine the UMSS scorcd in the 237 position
