The article makes reference to some aspects of the archivistic in Argentina, with descriptive methodology and conscience that the subject is not run out with this work. Great part of the documentary production of the colonial institutions has arrived to the present time and is conserved in the General Archives of the Nation, first institution of this type formally installed in the continent, or in the Historical Archives of some Provinces. The real development of the archivistic in Argentina occurred in the XX century, when it began the professional formation and with her, the accomplishment of congresses and journeys of qualification and investigation, as well as the creation of the professional associations. Indeed, Argentina was pioneering in the matter of education of this science in Latin America. The first course was created in Buenos Aires in 1923, although the School that gave real height to this discipline was the one of the National University of Cordova, created in 1959, at the request of the Dr. Aurelio Tanodi. A transcendental landmark not only in the Argentine, but Latin American archivistic formation, was the courses of the Center Inter-American of Development of Archives - CIDA, in Cordova, between 1974 and 1988. At present, education in archives is offered to university and tertiary, official and prived level, with different modalities in several provinces. The main deficiency is concerning legislation, although there were many attempts, from numerous professionals engaged with the profession and the defense of the documentary patrimony.
