Abstract

Studies of the Bolivian Amazonian fauna by French-Bolivian scientists, collected samples of fish for taxonomic classification, before the visit of professors and university students for the purpose of academic practices, from 1994, the Ictícola Museum was officially opened, to which National and international tourists frequent our facilities. By Resolution of the Honorable University Council (H.C.U. Nº. 136/2006), resolves to nominate the Ictícola Museum with the name of: "Dr. Jorge Estivares Justiniano" as a posthumous tribute to the famous character, and fair recognition of his work done for the benefit of our university. To date, visits have increased considerably, in the last 5 years and according to the structure of the people who visited, 45 % are students of Educational Units and university students of the city of Trinidad. 20 % are local visits, 30 % are national tourists and only 5 % are foreign tourists, all attracted by the 509 species of classified fish.
