PARDO NOVAK, Antonio; TERCEROS BERRIOS, Gabriela  and  MENDEZ DELGADILLO, Litzy M.. ORAL, SUBLINGUAL AND VAGINAL MISOPROSTOL USES AS INDUCTION OF LABOR IN FULL TERM LIVE FETUS AND PREMATURE RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES. Rev. méd. (Cochabamba) [online]. 2010, vol.21, n.1, pp. 12-18. ISSN 2074-4609.

Premature rupture of membranes at term is an obstetric pathology that increases notably the risk to the newborn and its mother. There is a direct relationship between them. (its length can vary from 12 to 96 hrs.). This research tends to propose the Misoprospol as a safe inductor of labor. With the hospital's ethical committee approval, we administered oral, vaginal and sublingual Misoprostol at settled doses to 120 women with pregnancy at term with premature rupture of membranes. There was a control group. We found that the best rout of administration was sublingual. A single dose of 25 micrograms. With that single dose it was obtained an effective uterus dynamic in less than 6 hours and it was no necessary to administer a second dose and latency time has no influence in its action. We also evaluated the security of this management; all the newborns had APGAR rates above 7 points. Although tachisystole was observed, it had no repercussion in the fetal heart beat registration. According to our findings, sublingual misoprostol is recommended in labor induction in case full term pregnancy with premature rupture of membranes.
