    For every human being is essential to know the basis of natural products, which can be consumed and applied in different presentations such as teas, salves and others. Chamomile is a native herb which is climate resis-tant and adaptable to geographic change. One of the current problems in the área of health is the "self-medication" and the indiscriminate use of drugs without a prescription that could trigger various diseases and resistance to antibiotics; the-refore, consumption of natural plants to relieve cer-tain ailments is a good alternative. A descriptive study was conducted in order to determine the active ingredient of chamomile and its different forms of preparation and dosage for consumption, favoring the relief of stomach pains, inflammations and others, thanks to its components as carbohydrates, mucilage, flavone glycosides, fatty acids, vitamin C, organic acids, alcohols and pigments, which act as an effective soothing and anti-inflammatory.
