BELTRAN ORTIZ, Cinda y JACINTO EULATE, Napoleón. Application of microbubbles in the flotation of sludge from mine water treatment.: Part I: neutralization and flocculation. Rev. Met. UTO [online]. 2012, n.31, pp. 31-38. ISSN 2078-5593.
The results of this research show how an efficient application of microbubbles of diameter< 100 mm, for effective removal by flotation of sludge from chemical treatment of AMD-EMH and generation of treated water, for possible industrial application orsimply download to the environment. This paper presents the study carried out to determine the optimum operating conditions for the chemical treatment of AMD-EMH, and obtainingtheflocs of features and sizesuitable for the flotation with microbubbles. The acidity has been neutralized to pH 9.5, the metals and So42- which form the sludge then passed to the flocculation step and solid-liquid separation by flotation with microbubbles. Floc size
1,365 microns, suitable for flotation are formed with a tf = 20 minutes, Gm = 60 s-1, Gf = 20 s-1 and a dose of 4.0 mg /l of Superfloc A-10.
