Abstract: The marked inequalities in health status of the population are common cause for concern. In the suburbs of the municipality of Colcapirhua, there are high rates of morbidity and mortality, poor socioeconomic conditions, illiteracy, overcrowding, poor sanitation and basic services, low access to health services. The aim of this study was to determine the economic background, social, cultural and political reality in peri-urban health Colcapirhua áreas. The study is observational, prospective, transversal and descriptive. Sampling occurred in peri-urban áreas of the municipality of Colcapirhua, targeting 100 surveys of 9 questions (with sub-questions) múltiple choice. The main results we can say that the  people know the current health system, health personnel, infrastructure and basic  health concepts. Most people (64.1%) are unaware of the obligations of the authorities regarding their health and the environment. In conclusión we can say that the study population is detached from the current health system unknowingly, with discontent.
