ZARATE, Freddy. The twisted vision of Alcides Arguedas. From respected intellectual to enemy of the fatherland. J. Com. Soc. [online]. 2015, vol.3, n.3, pp. 139-152. ISSN 2412-5733.

This paper has the purpose to see the academic reception of Alcides Arguedas. Initially, at the beginning of 20th century, he was culturally and intellectually recognized by Bolivian society. However, when nationalist politics began to be more important, he became this "antihero" of Bolivian nation. His very admirers became their criticizers. Augusto Céspedes "El Chueco" ran a negatively idea about Arguedas around the cultural environment. This idea has been promoted till our days among students, academics and the society in general.

Palavras-chave : Alcides Arguedas; Bolivian thought; positivism; nationalism.
