INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

 

Scope and policy

Ayaju Magazine, a periodical of electronic character was first introduced in February 2002, by the Department of Psychology of the UCB and is currently under the administration of the Institute of Behavioral Sciences Research (IICC).

This journal is published twice a year during the months of March and agosto.Los published works are original contributions and high academic and scientific rigor covering a wide range of theoretical and applied psychological issues relating to human behavior. But also publishes selected topics from related disciplines.

The record has Ajayu Journal ISSN and its articles are presented in APA format. It also is indexed Ajayu LATINDEXy Magazines is part of Bolivian REVBOL.

The review process of the relevance of the publications by arbitration conducted national and international peer in the form of "double blind" with the participation of two evaluarores with the required expertise to perform adequate evaluation. The evaluation was carried out with the help of a form to record assessors considerations. Evaluators can accept or reject the article permanently or conditionally to the clarification and / or correction of the author. Communication with the author is the sole responsibility of the publisher. Some aspects are taken into account in the evaluation are:

The originality and novelty of the proposal

Its relevance and scientific rigor

His clarity in the drafting

Their contribution to the discipline

His adjustment to APA format

The Editorial Board of the Journal Ajayu is formed by a national editorial board and an international blind evaluators who serve as the article.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

Original

The articles to be published must be original unpublished nor submitted for publication to another journal. By submitting a manuscript, it is considered that the views expressed in articles are the sole responsibility of the authors. The articles must be delivered on diskette, in any word processor, preferably word, plus one copy on paper.

The maximum length of an article may not exceed 20 pages and a half-spaced (25 to 35 lines per page). All articles are written in Spanish (Castilian) on one side, referring also a summary in English and Spanish that have between 125 and 175 words. On the first page of the article will be the title of the article in Spanish and English, the names of the authors, the key words in Spanish and English (maximum four). On the second page is a summary in English and the third page of the summary in Spanish. The fourth page will put the title of the article (without the names of the authors) and begin with the introduction.

The size of the sheets will be numbered consecutively letter and: first page summary (English and Spanish), text, references, tables and figures.

Standards
Articles experimental

Will follow approximately the following order:

Introduction, Method (subjects, instruments, procedures, etc..), Results, Conclusions and / or talk. Nonexperimental items carry a logical order and a clear and structured.

Citations

He interspersed the text, indicating the name of / the author / s followed by year of publication. It uses one of the following models, depending on the form that is written the phrase:

A) Mirror and Gomez (1996) have recently published an article on personality disorders.

B) There is a recent article on personality disorders (Espejo and Gomez, 1991).

When should juxtapose two or more references, should be ordered alphabetically.

The first time you mention a bibliographic reference in the text, cite all authors if their number is less than or equal to four, citing the first author followed by et al. If the number exceeds four, if the same reference should be mentioned more times, will be used hereinafter abbreviated formula first author followed by et al. in the case that the reference has more than four authors. If a work has two authors is cited siemrpe both.

References (at end of article) always cite both authors.

Titles (book, chapter or article) and the names will only capitalize the first letter.

At the end of the text cite references in alphabetical order according to siguietnes guidelines:

Journal articles: Name (s) of author (s) (s) along with initial (s) the name, year of publication (in parenthesis), article title, journal name (in italics), volume (in italics), first and last page.
For example:
Del Pino, A., Gaos, M. T. and Dorta, R. (1996). Convergent and criterion validity of the scale of the Inventory Type Jenkins Activity (JAS) in a sample of male canaries. Behavioral Psychology, 4, 63-78.

Conference papers: Surname (s) of author (s) (s) together with (s) initial (s) the name, year and month of celebration (in parentheses), title of the paper (in italics), name of Congress and city where it took place. For example,
Romero, S., Lozano, J. and Lega, L. I. (1998, July). Differences in irrational thinking Salvadorans living is the United States and those living in El Salvador. Paper presented at the World Congress of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Acapulco, Mexico.

Book chapters: Surname (s) of author (s) along with initial (s) the name of the year of publication (in parentheses), chapter title, initials and last name (s) of author (s) or director (s) of the book, title of book (in italics), first and last page, instead of editing and publishing.
For example,
Antony, M. M. and Barlow, D. H. (1997). Specific phobia. In V. E. Knight (ed.), Manual for Cognitive-behavioral treatment of psychological disorders, vol. 1 (pp. 3-24). Madrid: Siglo XXI

Books: Name (s) of author (s) (s) or compiler (s) along with initial (s) the name, year of publication (in parentheses), title of book (in italics), place of publication and publisher .
For example:
Turner, S. M., Calhoun, K. S. and Adams, H. E. (Eds.) (1992). Handbook of Clinical Behavior Therapy (2nd edition). New York: Wiley.

Translated books are added to the end of the reference and brackets "Orig." followed by the year.
For example:
Kazdim, A. E. (1983). History of behavior modification. Bilbao: Desclée Brouwer. (Orig. 1978).

Tables and figures should be on a separate sheet, numbered consecutively and pointing inlusión place in the text. The feet of these leaves must be also different. Tables and figures will have enough quality to be printed directly, but will generally be included in the final diskette sent with Article accepted. The abbreviations used should be explained in a footnote.

They try to avoid terms that do not exist in the Castilian language, the Anglo-Saxons particularly frequent (eg., Activation, and no "arousal"). If necessary inclusion (eg., Names of tests, questionnaires, etc..), Will parentheses (followed by the name of authors and year of publication) and preceded by his Castilian translation between quotation marks. For example, "Fear of Negative Evaluation" (Fear of Negative Evaluation, FNE, Watson & Friend, 1969).

All acronyms should be explained the first time they appear in the text (even in the case of the best known). For example, APA (American Psychological Association).

For any other aspect not covered in previous lines follow the rules of publication of the APA (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 4th edition, 1994). If the article is accepted, you must send the same text on diskette of 32 (PC compatible) written with the word processor WordPerfect or Word for Windows 95/98.

Evaluation of Articles

Once the article is accepted by the Editorial Board of the Department of Psychology at the Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo, should be submitted to arbitration by international peers.

The procedure is double blind, meaning that the item was sent to a (a) teacher (a) expert (a) on the subject without know the name of the author, the author does not know who is the expert.

Finally, the expert's report indicated the relevance of the publication or corrections must be made prior to or rejection of the publication.

The Editorial Board will meet to take into account the considerations of the evaluation and then proceed with the publication or article.

Sending of manuscripts

Publication

Receipt of items received. Original will not be returned or correspondence will be entered thereon. The acceptance or rejection of articles will be communicated to the author as soon as possible.

Each article is written for publication in the journal will be reviewed by two qualified professionals, anonymously, by sending a report on the benefits of disclosure to the editor of the magazine. The final decision on whether to publish an article shall, in the last instacia, the director of the magazine.

Items that do not meet the standards set by the magazine will not be subject to revision or returned to their (s) author (s), but it will be notified (I) the breach of them. In any case, the journal reserves the right to instroducir changes it deems appropriate for the fulfillment of the above standards.

The responsibility for the content of articles published is the exclusive responsibility of the signatories of the article and in no way be attributable to the principal or the Editorial Board of the journal
